The Cabell County Dementia Identification Project is a joint effort between public safety agency, Cabell County 911 and law enforcement agencies to develop a platform that will serve as a centralized location for key identification information about individuals with dementia. This information will be critical in efforts to locate and identify someone with dementia that may be lost or in danger.
Dementia is the loss of cognitive function in which an individual will experience issues with memory, thinking, and inability to care for themselves. Wandering is common in dementia and as many as six in 10 people with dementia will exhibit wandering behavior.
